Durbanville is situated in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town. About 30 minutes drive by car from Cape Town city. There are a number of local wine producing farms in the area forming the Durbanville Wine Valley as well as being close to the well known and historical wine producing farms in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl.
For an excellent day out, tour the Wine Valley farms, taste the fine wines and dine in their own restaurants.
The suburb has seen considerable expansion of both residential and businesses in recent years. Durbanville has not altogether lost that small town feel though especially in the residential parts of the town.
Just a short drive from Durbanville is the Tygervalley shopping centre and entertainment complex which houses most of the well known SA retailers together with movies, restaurants and take-ways.
For those visitors looking to play a round of golf the Durbanville golf course is well worth a visit. No hills to climb and views all around the course make the 18 holes a real pleasure. Book in well in advance if you can, the course is very popular with members and visitors alike.
