The Kruger National Park is situated on South Africa's north eastern border and stretches for about 350 km's from the Limpopo river at South Africa's northern frontier to the Crocodile river in the south. It is a 21,497 sq km area which supports a large number of Africa's wild animals and indigenous fauna. Adjoining the park are a number of internationally famous private game reserves without restrictive fences, allowing the free flow of game between them and the park. The Kruger National Park, Zimbabwe's Gonarezhou National Park and Mozambique's Limpopo National Park are now managed as a single conservation area which covers an area of about 35,000 sq km's and will eventually be around 100,000 sq km's.

The climate is sub tropical with temperatures sometimes in excess of 40C. Rainfall is highest in the summer months. Vegetation is largely bushveld varying from areas of grassland to dense bush. Visitors to the Kruger National Park are expected to observe the necessary regulations in place to ensure safety and conservation of the parks natural elements.
