Cape Town Attractions
These are just a few of the experiences available in the Cape Town area. Start the day with breakfast at the Blue Peter Hotel, very reasonably priced and the view across Blouberg beach to Table Mountain is terrific. There are many wine farms open during the major part of the year for tours, viewing and tasting their produce. Drivers beware though. South Africa has strict drink and drive laws. Plenty of good organized tours available.
Visit the Victoria and Alfred waterfront where you can dine at the quayside and watch the small boats and tourist crafts come and go. Then visit the craft markets full of unique local arts and crafts for sale. While your at the waterfront take a trip across the bay to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned during the apartheid years. Now a museum.
Fancy a flutter on the one arm bandits or a chance on the roulette and blackjack. Try your luck at the Grand West Casino. Another breakfast date but this time at the top of table mountain with magnificent views out across the city to table bay. Take the trip up in the cable car where you can admire the panoramic view as you ascend.
Blouberg beach is ideal for windsurfing, kitesufring and just plain surfing. If you don't participate then just relax on the beach and watch. A paradise for shopaholics is the Canal Walk shopping centre, one of the largest in the southern hemisphere where there is always plenty of entertainment to be had.
Travel a little further afield to whale watch or see the penguins at Boulders beach, then on to Cape Point nature reserve at the tip of Africa, almost Africa's most southern point. If your a golfer then there are numerous excellent golf courses two of which are close to Blouberg. Atlantic Beach Golf Estate, a European open qualifiers course and Milnerton Golf Club right next to the seafront. Or alternatively just take advantage of Cape Town's renowned and best attraction, it's laid back and relaxed atmosphere.
