About Pringle Bay
Pringle Bay is a small coastal town in the Overberg region of the Western Cape. Situated between Betty's Bay and Gordon's Bay, many of the houses are only used as holiday houses by their owners. The small community is friendly and very laid back. To get to Pringle Bay from Cape Town, you will need to get onto the N2 Highway, and drive towards Somerset West. Take the R44 offramp, and head towards Strand, and Gordons Bay. If you stay on the R44, you will drive through Strand, Gordons Bay, and past Pringle Bay. The beach is nearly always pretty deserted, the town is very safe, and family friendly. There are various restaurants and curio shops to visit. Overlooking Pringle Bay is the 450 metre Cape Hangklip (hanging rock) which marks the eastern end of False Bay. The caves and valleys of the Cape Hangklip where used as a refuge by slaves escaping from their masters in Cape Town. Accommodation in Pringle Bay consists of self catering holiday homes, usually spacious with large fynbos gardens.
