Cape Town Attractions
If your visiting Cape Town be prepared to join the laid back and relaxed lifestyle that Cape Town is renowned for. No better way to start your first day with a outdoor breakfast at the Blue Peter Hotel with its view over Blouberg beach across the bay to Table Mountain. A walk along the white sandy beach in the sunshine, then off to plan the tours and visits around the Cape.
Go to the top of table mountain in the cable car with its 360 deg views from the rotating cabin, as it ascends. Once at the top there are magnificent views out across the city and Table Bay. Visitors to Cape Town should never leave without at least one trip to the Table Top.
At the foot of Table Mountain the City Bowl with an extensive variety of restaurants, clubs, bars, markets and informal traders selling anything from local fruit to ethnic African items. An attractive city with well preserved historical buildings, museums, castle, churches and many interesting multi cultural locations.
Cape Town is well served for cinema and theater. The city has three main art-house cinemas screening the more specialized independent, cult and international art movies. Popular mainstream movie cinemas are located at most larger shopping malls and entertainment centers. World class performances of opera, ballet, drama and satire are hosted at the Nico Theater. Other fine venues include the Baxter Theater Center, the University of Cape Town's Little Theater and the Maynardville Open Air Theater. The city is well known for it's jazz music connections and there is always a performance available in one of the city clubs, bars and restaurants.
