Whatever type of holiday is your choice it can be found in Spain. Traditional, quiet Spanish country villages or city and coastal holiday locations. The capital of Spain is the city of Madrid, centrally situated in the very heart of Spain. It is a lively city full of entertainment, restaurants and fine architecture. Barcelona on the coast of Spain and bordering the Mediterranean sea has about 4.2km of sandy beaches.
Museums, galleries, public parks, tours and many other popular attractions including superb cuisine, all are part of the unique city of Barcelona. Travel by car or coach in Spain to the major towns and cities is easy and on good roads, however some of the more remote villages are more difficult to reach. Internal flights service the main cities and can save time if intending to travel long distances within Spain. Normal train travel is reasonably cheap. Taking the speed train anywhere between Andalusia Madrid and Catalonia is more expensive than the standard fares.
While being part of Spain the balearic islands of Menorca, Majorca and Ibiza have distinct personality of their own. The islands have international airports which allows easy access to tourists from from most european countries. Accommodation both on mainland Spain and the islands are of all types from basic to luxury. Self catering apartments, hotels and guest houses are all popular and should be booked well in advance for peak holiday periods.
