The suburb of Table View, so named for it's full on view of Table Mountain across Table Bay. Cape Town's most famous landmark is probably best known from photographs taken from the Table View beachfront. There is no finer view of the ever changing "Tablecloth" and constantly varying shades of colour on the mountainside than from this location.
The main route through Table View is the long straight tree lined Blaauwberg Road which tends to get very congested when people are traveling to and from work. However plans are in hand to alleviate the traffic problem with the building of a new road. Off the main road Table View has the feel of a quiet residential suburb.
Table View holiday accommodation consists mainly of Guest Houses, self catering homes and apartments, B&B and small boutique hotels. Many visitors to cape Town prefer staying in Table View because of the direct route into Cape Town city along the Otto Du Plessis and Marine Drive. It is conveniently located for touring the West Coast and Wine districts. Long white sandy beaches are a feature making it a popular spot for kite sailing, surfing and walking especially on hot days with a sea breeze to keep one cool.
